A COUNCIL has moved to make it clear it does not use ‘positive discrimination’ to take on ‘under-represented’ groups of people.
Wycombe District Council said: “The council will not positively discriminate in respect of selection and recruitment on the basis of the fact that particular groups may be under-represented.
“The council may target a particular group with job adverts, training or monitoring schemes where they are under-represented.”
The council issued the statement to its personnel and development committee ‘for information and comment’ and said it was not ‘a proposed change of policy’.
