TRANSPORT bosses are laying on advice sessions to tell motorists how best to drive in winter road conditions.
Free ice scrapers will be given out at the 'safer winter driving events' across the county in November.
Cllr Val Letheren, Buckinghamshire County Council transport supremo, said: "I hope that as many drivers as possible take the opportunity to visit one of these sessions which will prepare them for whatever road conditions we will have to cope with in the coming months.
“Last year’s winter weather provided a great learning curve and the experience we gained from it means we are better equipped to keep our residents informed and manage their expectations should we face another extremely cold spell."
New media is being used by the council to give road users a heads up about problems on their routes.
Drivers can sign up to Twitter alerts to get up to date details on disruptions.
The council’s website will show where road teams are working on a day to day basis, how emergency works and winter maintenance are progressing and allow people to report defects on the highway.
The events take place from 11am to 3pm on Friday November 19 at Eden Centre, High Wycombe, and Tuesday November 23 at Friars Square, Aylesbury.
It has been organised by Transport for Buckinghamshire, Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership and the Highways Agency.
