THERE is very little I wouldn’t do in the name of charity stunts: I’ve grown and shaved a bizarre beard, I’ve dyed my hair a ridiculous colour and I’ve dressed as Rolf Harris and sung Two Little Boys on stage to a bewildered audience in Lane End.

But there is one thing I wouldn’t do for all the tea in China… take my clothes off.

The idea of me doing a Calendar Girls type stunt is revolting.

However, there are those who happily get their kit off for good causes and good luck to them. Several worthies in Risborough, including the mayor, are taking part in one such initiative.

In fact the town came to a near standstill when Rebecca Hill, owner of Rebecca Hill Gallery and Hair and Beauty Salon, modelled in the High Street recently for the 2011 Princes Risborough Naked Calendar.

The idea spurred Midweek to do a survey in last week’s paper in which we asked other important people if they would strip.

Most said ‘No way, Jose’, apart from High Wycombe legend Bill Reid – the town clerk – who once ran a volunteers’ centre.

Bill showed a real spirit of volunteering when he said: “If it was a bit of a crack and as long as there was money for charity at the end of it, I wouldn’t imagine I would say no.”

Well Bill, there is money at the end of it.

I will stump up the first £20 and I have already asked your pals to donate to this cause as well. I’ll provide the photographer and venue.

Only one condition though… I don’t have to be there to watch it.
