THE distraught fiancé of a woman who has been missing for more than a week has urged her to 'come home'.

Police are becoming increasingly concerned about Petra Sinclair, who disappeared last Tuesday.

Miss Sinclair, 41, of West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe, was dropped off by fiancé Paul Barnes, 39, near the bus station that day at 11.25am and never returned home.

Mr Barnes said: “Please let us know whether she's safe, obviously everybody's concerned and worried about her.

“Since I've known her she's been a happy bubbly person. There was no sign she wanted to leave and it's out of character. She was due to come back home by 1pm.

“It's the not knowing and the worry that's difficult. I just want her home safe and sound.”

The couple live together and are planning to get married next year, he added.

Police have established through CCTV evidence that she got the Number 1 bus along London Road and went into Martin McColl's newsagent on Station Road, Loudwater. It is not known where she went after that.

Chief Inspector Colin Seaton said Miss Sinclair's mobile phone was switched off shortly after she went missing and she did not take any spare clothes with her.

He said: “It's actually very very rare that someone goes missing without any contact at all, especially over this period of time. We don't know why she left of her free will, if in fact she did, there seems to be no reason.

“I would like to make a direct appeal to Petra and urge anyone who might see her to contact us immediately.”

Miss Sinclair, who has three children from a previous relationship, is described as slim, 5ft 8ins, with long, straight dark hair and was wearing a grey and blue jacket, black jumper, black leggings and knee high boots.

Ch Insp Seaton said it is possible she could still be in the Thames Valley area as she has friends in both Oxford and Reading. She also has a friend in Telford and connections to Lockerbie in Scotland and the Newton Abbott, Paignton and Torquay areas in Devon.

She previously lived in Devon under the married name of Petra Collins between 2005 and 2007.

Anyone with any information or who has seen anyone matching Miss Sinclair’s description is asked to contact Thames Valley Police on 0845 8 505 505. If you do not want to speak to police or leave your name, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
