ANIMAL parts have mysteriously been appearing in recycling bins in High Wycombe, including the carcass of a deer.

Graham Denham, of Beechwood Road said he found what appeared to be a “mutilated deer” wrapped in plastic in his recycling bin last week.

When he reported it to Wycombe District Council it said it was aware of the problem and was investigating.

Mr Denham, 35, said: “I am just intrigued really. It is a bit weird. Why they are putting them in the recycling bin I don't know.”

He said he first heard about it in January when someone from the recycling department was trying to get in touch with the management company of the flats where he lives.

He said: “They said they had been finding dead animal parts in the recycling bin.”

But he did not think anything more of it until he found the deer in his bin last Monday and the council said it would be collected on Friday.

Spokesman for Wycombe District Council, Sue Robinson said: “We are aware of two separate cases both at the same location. Previously we contacted the management agents for the property and  made them aware of the carcass in the recycling bin. We arranged a one-off collection to deal with the carcass. Appropriate disposal routes were followed.”

She added: “Wycombe District Council will be taking  follow-up action in response to both these incidents and we will be in touch with residents in due course.”
