SEVERAL community groups have joined forces as part of a 'village forum' – to produce a clear vision for the future of Bourne End.
Organisations including the parish council, residents associations and neighbourhood action groups are set to create a village plan – so they are better equipped to tackle 'threats to the community'.
The recent fight against a proposed Tesco store, the planned closure of the day centre and a possible future threat to the village library were all highlighted as reasons to join together.
Though the Future of Our Village group was formed in 2007, several other organisations have now joined, and more than 100 residents attended a meeting earlier this month.
