FOR many families, facing the prospect of one set of A-Level results arriving can be daunting.

Consider then, the tension surrounding the Eustace household last week as triplets Edmund, Will and Vicky and two nervous parents waited as results day loomed.

But the pre-results anxiety was over shortly after 9am on Thursday.

The Marlovians arrived at Wycombe High School for Vicky to join her classmates as the result envelopes were handed out.

Her worries were soon erased as she achieved two A* and an A and was offered a place at Warwick studying art and history.

Then the Eustace's drove across Wycombe to the Royal Grammar School on Amersham Hill.

Edmund achieved four A*, the second best result at RGS and will study engineering at Cambridge.

Will scored three A* and was accepted to Durham University to study French and Spanish.

Edmund said the tension escalated as Thursday drew closer.

He said: “Especially our Mum. She was probably more nervous than all of us put together. Dad was still nervous but he didn't show it as much.”

Having two siblings to share the A-Level experience with helped to avoid feeling alone during the stressful year.

He said: “I suppose so, especially with my brother going to the same school and we both applied for similar universities.

“We were all nervous for each other as well when you see them opening their results.”

The effort and study over many years had proved worthwhile.

“Definitely, so much. Just the amount of paper around the house shows how much we had done.”
