MANY men ask themselves what would be the perfect present for their girlfriend.
The stereotypical flowers, chocolate and a romantic dinner were not enough for 20-year-old Marlovian Alex Bradley.
The apprentice butcher looked to the skies for inspiration when it passed right before his eyes.
He said: “I didn't no what to get her, I woke up one morning looked out my window and saw a plane, then it hit me – sky diving.”
The butcher had trouble convincing his girlfriend Francesca Martin he had booked a sky dive from 13,000 feet for her 20th birthday.
But he had the paper work to prove the flight was to leave from Cambridgeshire on July 15.
Alex said: “I felt fine the morning of the dive, didn't really pay much attention, it wasn't until I was in the plane that I started to think, oh my god, I'm going to jump out a plane.”
After 30 seconds of free fall and five minute parachute, they landed safely.
He said: “Seeing the ground getting closer and closer really put the fear factor into me, I honestly feel more scared of heights now then I did before.”
