A FOUNDER of a career support group was honoured by Amersham mayor Mimi Harker as the charity celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Mayor Harker visited the Gerrards Cross-based Careers Springboard group on December 5, making a special presentation to Peter Bunn, one of the co-founders.

Cllr Harker is a long-term supporter of the group, which provides support to jobseekers in south Bucks, and spent time talking to many of the 100 members and guests.

The event at St Andrew’s United Reform Church also saw awards given to three members to enhance their employment skills.

Julie Hammerton, from Chalfont St Giles, Stephen Smith, from Gerrards Cross and Richard Ibbotson, from Marlow, all won awards to help with various training courses.
