WANDERERS chairman Ivor Beeks last night refused to allay fans' fears that question marks over the future of Wasps could have a knock-on effect for the football club.

The rugby club are Wanderers' tenants at Adams Park and their financial problems could lead to the football club missing out on important income from rent.

Blues supporters will be hoping a deal can be struck to prevent Wasps going into administration and denying Wanderers key cash.

Uncertainty over the future of Wasps, with a takeover deal seemingly imminent, was given as the reason for Wanderers failing to submit their financial accounts by the March 31 deadline.

This week the club confirmed the accounts have still not been filed, which has landed them with a transfer embargo until they are submitted.

But when asked by the Bucks Free Press to reassure Blues fans their club would not be affected by what is happening with Wasps, Mr Beeks said: "There's nothing to say at this moment in time. I have no comment to make about Wasps or Wycombe Wanderers."

Failure to submit the accounts on time led to Wycombe Wanderers Trust members David Roberton and Don Woodward standing down as Trust Directors on the club’s board.
