MR Cadle (BFP Apr 6), asks me to identify where the Bible condemns homosexuality. I politely respond as follows.

First of all, there is no dichotomy between the Old and New Testaments, and between Christ’s words and the rest of the Bible. During His earthly ministry Jesus frequently declared, “It is written” to enforce His teachings, and proceeded to quote from the Old Testament.

The relevant New Testament passages on the sinfulness of homosexuality are : Romans 1:22-28, 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10, 1 Timothy 1:10, 2 Peter 2:6-8 and Jude v7. Christ Himself also refers to the judgements on the city of Sodom in Matthew 10:15, 11:23-24, Mark 6:11, Luke 10:12,17:29, and He affirmed marriage as being between one man and one woman only in Mark 10:6-8.

Mr Cadle states that I am ‘obsessed’ with the gay marriage issue. May I courteously point out that none of the three main political parties proposed this change in their manifestos.

Furthermore, the homosexual lobby group Stonewall wants the words ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ deleted from the 1973 Matrimonial Causes Act.

The Government has stated that these words must also be removed from data held by the immigration and tax authorities.

Down the line we shall have a prohibition on the use of these words in explaining to schoolchildren what marriage is.

The attempt to redefine marriage reflects a society in rebellion against God, proudly rejecting Him who has done so much for this nation, including saving us from the invader, against all the odds, back in 1940.

Fashionable cool Britannia, with its new religion of equality and human rights, needs to realise that the Trinitarian God, who desires to grant His mercy, also comes in judgement against nations which continue to defy Him.
