A GROUP of pupils and teachers from Canada visited the Bucks village of Lane End to remember two former students who died in a plane crash.
The group of 40 from the Canadian school, Owen Sound Collegiate and Vocational Institute, visited Widdenton Wood where a Canadian Lancaster RF150 crashed on April 5, 1945.
They paid respect to the whole crew including flying officer, Joseph Watson and bomb aimer, Curwood Armstrong who had attended the OSCVI.
Their names are listed as war dead on a World War Two commemorative plaque that adorns the main entrance hall of their school.
A short memorial was held by the Lane End Royal British Legion on April 12, when they visited.
This was part of the last leg of their itinerary which saw them head to Europe in conjunction with the 95th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
