A TEENAGE violinist will perform for the Queen as part of a televised Jubilee celebration in Westminster tomorrow.

14-year-old Ellie Walton is part of the one hundred strong National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain who will be performing patriotic pieces at a Jubilee lunch on Tuesday.

Among The Queen’s 700 guests at Westminster Hall will be Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

The Holmer Green teen admitted she felt nervous about the prestigious performance but was looking forward to seeing some famous faces.

She said: “I feel very privileged to be playing at The Queen's Jubilee Lunch.

“I remember watching the Royal Wedding last year and thinking how lucky the children in the choir were- it's very exciting to know that I will be one of those children this time.

“I love playing the violin and I have to try and get in as much practice as possible.”

Ellie has been playing the violin since the age of four following in the foot steps of her musical mother, Mary Walton, a cello teacher.

She joined the National Children's Orchestra six years ago before winning a music scholarship to attend Wycombe Abbey School.

She spends every weekend at the High Wycombe Music Centre at Millbrook Combined School where she also plays the trumpet.

Ahead of the concert, organised by the Livery, the young musicians will spend three days in London rehearsing for seven hours a day.

The event will be televised live on the BBC and Ellie’s proud parents are looking forward to seeing their daughter on the box.

Mrs Walton said: “It’s very interesting for Ellie to go and be part of it all. We’re very proud of her and her granny’s are especially proud.”
