PEDAL powered pals from Beaconsfield will cycle 450 miles to The Netherlands in memory of their friend.

On June 23, Grant Hepburn, Laurie Othen, Benjamin Tilly and Alex Dunlop will set off on a seven day cycle from Beaconsfield to the Assen Moto GP ground in the north Netherlands.

The team are hoping to raise over £4,000 for Cancer Research UK and Sue Ryder in memory of their cycling sidekick and Moto GP enthusiast Mark Denyer, who passed away last July.

Mr Denyer from Beaconsfield spent time at a Sue Ryder Hospice during his battle against liver cancer.

The four friends will cycle for around 70 to 75 miles a day making their way through the Kent Downs before crossing the channel and riding through France, Belgium and up to Assen in time to watch a Moto GP race.

Mr Hepburn, 43, met Mr Denyer whilst training for a cycling challenge to Brighton.

He said: “Mark would have definitely loved to cycle with us and then watch the race at the end.

“He grew up with motorbikes and has always really enjoyed watching the Moto GP.

“I just can’t wait to actually get on the bike and get going now. We’ve been talking about it for so long and boring everyone, we’re just so excited to go.”
