CHANGES are afoot for vehicle exit routes from the recently remodelled High Wycombe Railway Station.

From July 24, all vehicles using the interchange at the station will be able to exit it and go straight across into Castle Street.

Currently, only buses and taxis can do that, but Transport for Buckinghamshire are changing this.

When the station was remodelled in late 2010 and early 2011, trial alterations were put in place including: • No right turn for Southbound vehicles on A404 Amersham Hill into Castle Street.

• No Entry into new station interchange exit road.

• Straight on from public transport interchange exit to Castle Street for Buses and taxis only.

The 'No Right turn' for Southbound vehicles into Castle Street and 'No Entry' from Amersham Hill into the new station interchange exit road will now be made permanent.

Buckinghamshire County Council Cabinet Member for Transportation, Peter Hardy said: "The trial changes have worked well to date but we have listened to comments from a number of people including local residents and Bucks Fire and Rescue and have decided to allow all vehicles to access Castle Street from the station interchange exit."
