NINE new homes could be built on the site of an Amersham pub that was demolished earlier this year.

The Red Lion in Chestnut Lane was pulled down in July, less than 24 hours after a deal to sell it was agreed.

Its demolition is now subject to a retrospective planning application made to Chiltern District Council as part of plans to redevelop the site.

The rest of the proposals are for three pairs of semi-detached dwellings and a further terrace of three dwellings to be built where the pub used to stand.

A new access road and parking spaces would also be built as part of the scheme if planning permission is given.

The council is likely to rule on the application in December.
