A MAN was left with head injuries after being attacked and robbed on a footpath in High Wycombe.

Police said between 7pm and 7.20pm on Saturday the victim walking on the path between Grenfell Avenue and Crossroads in Castlefield.

He was struck on the back of his head, causing him to fall over, and while on the ground he was attacked again and his wallet and £20 cash were stolen from his trouser pocket.

The victim managed to continue walking home with his head bleeding heavily. On his way an unknown white man approached him and asked if he was okay.

He was treated for his injuries at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer PC Alex Kratky said: “This incident took place at a busy time on a Saturday night where there were many members of the public passing close to the scene both on foot and in their cars. I believe there would have been people who witnessed the robbery.”
