Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a stabbing which left a High Wycombe resident seriously injured.

The 24-year-old male victim was stabbed five times in an attack in Mendip Way, Downley, at about 2am on July 16.

Officers now want help from the public in a search for 19-year-old Hamza Hussain who is said to often frequent the Totteridge and Downley areas of the town.

He is described as Asian, about 6ft 2ins, slim, with brown hair. It is believed that at the time of the incident he had a top-knot hairstyle.

Det Con Emily Addison of Force CID based at High Wycombe Police Station, said: “I would like to reassure the public that we do not consider Hussain to be a threat to the public.

“Further, I would also appeal to anyone who recognises the description of the second offender to come forward with information.”

The victim of the attack, who was stabbed in his back and side, was treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital and has since been discharged.

Police are also looking for a second man, believed to be in his late teens, about 6ft tall with black hair.
