Armed police arrested the former football coach shortly after he carried out the brutal attack on May 12, 2016, following a helicopter search.

Speaking after a crown court judged handed him a lengthy sentence, investigating officer, High Wycombe Det Con David Mitchell, said: "This was a serious, prolonged, unprovoked attack on three innocent members of the public.

“The sentence passed shows that this behaviour will not be tolerated."

The main target of the attack, Mohammed Khan, was left with serious injuries while two others were also hurt.

During the hearing, Judge Francis Sheridan said: "This defendant appears out of control, truly, truly harsh and violent and totally brutal in his horrid treatment of Mr Khan.

"Kicking him in the head, frightening and terrifying him with a chopper which is exhibited in the case - to say it was exceptionally sharp is an understatement.

"He punched wherever he could, to hurt anybody he could, wherever he could.”
