A "predatory" man who carried out a string of sex attacks on lone women in Iver and London has been jailed for 15 years.

Thomas Biggs, 22, from Wraysbury Drive, West Drayton, was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court for assault by penetration, sexual assault of a female, attempted sexual assault of a female, two counts of attempted kidnap and two counts of robbery on May 26.

On June 4 last year, at around 11am, a 37-year-old woman was walking on a canal towpath in Iver, when she was sexually assaulted by a man who approached her.

The Metropolitan Police Service linked this attack to a number of incidents in London and then took on the investigation from Thames Valley Police.

Biggs also carried out a number of sexual assaults in Uxbridge and West Drayton.

Detective Sergeant Daniel Langton, of the Met’s Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command who led the investigation, said: "Biggs is a predatory offender who attacked lone women in public, and the attacks seemed to escalate in terms of the violence used.

"These attacks were degrading and terrifying for the victims, who have been incredibly brave in providing us with accounts of what happened to them and descriptions of the suspect.

"We believe that there may potentially be other women that Biggs has attacked, and we would urge anyone who has suffered an attack of this nature and not reported it to police to come forward and speak to officers."

Biggs was identified following extensive CCTV searches, analysis of phone signals and an e-fit of the attacker was released.

An arrest warrant was executed at his home on November 17 last year.

He was home at the time but officers seized a number of important pieces of evidence, including a bicycle and a balaclava and three mobile phones stolen from two of his victims.

Most of the items recovered were hidden in the garden shed which was padlocked.

He returned home a short time later and was arrested on suspicion of six sexual assaults, robbery and possession of Class B drugs.

Biggs was later identified by the two victims who took part in ID parades and was charged the following day.

He denied all of the charges against him, but changed his plea to guilty at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, February 27.

Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of Biggs should call officers on 020 8733 5033, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.
