Knife-wielding thieves threatened a taxi driver before stealing money from him in Iver.

Two men got into the taxi yesterday (Tuesday) at around 11.35pm in Langley Park Road, at the junction with Trenches Lane, and asked the driver, a 41-year-old man, to pull over after a short distance.

One of the men then threatened him with a knife and demanded money. They told the driver to get out of the car and attempted to steal it, but failed.

They two men then stole money from the driver and walked away in the direction of Langley.

Police said they victim did not sustain any injuries.

The first man has been described as an Asian man, aged between 25 and 35 and about 5ft 5ins tall with a shaved head and a beard.

He was reported to be of a short build and was wearing a dark brown hooded top, black trousers and black trainers.

The second man has been described as Asian man, aged between 25 and 35 and about 5ft 5ins tall. He was reported to be wearing a light brown hooded top with the hood up.

Investigating officer PC Melissa Todd, based at Amersham police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who has any details relating to this incident to get in touch.

“Two vehicles stopped to assist the victim, so I am particularly keen to speak to those people as they could have important information relating to this investigation.”
