BEACONSFIELD Freemasons have donated £4500 to an air ambulance charity as part of a birthday celebration for one its members.
The gift was given to the Berks, Oxon and Bucks Air Ambulance during the 80th birthday celebrations for Jack Surridge, a freemason from Downley who asked for the donation as his present from the society.
Clifford Drake, deputy head of Beaconsfield and Bucks Freemasons, , said: "Jack personifies our principles of friendship, decency and charity with his selfless devotion to others."
"So, thanks to Jack, the people of Berks, Bucks, and Oxon will be able to sleep a little easier in their beds at night, knowing that the air ambulance is still there to support them, should they need that vital, life-saving service."
