A PARKING warden has been slammed for 'unfairly' ticketing a car which was parked slightly within a disabled bay.

Jeni Beasley, who was working opposite, took this photo in The Parade in Bourne End.

She said she was shocked to see the grey Peugeot given a ticket, because of the way the car next to it had parked.

She added: “Why should that one person be penalised because they got the misfortune of being left with that one space."

Wycombe District Council confirmed the Peugeot was given a ticket, but said the black Audi was “lucky” not to be penalised.

Spokesman Sue Robinson said: “In hindsight, the second vehicle (Audi) was technically in contravention as the vehicle tyres needed to be within the bay lines.

“On this occasion, the driver has been lucky and a ticket was not issued. We have spoken to our officer about her decision and thank your reader for your bringing it to our notice.

“At the discretion of the civil enforcement officer, a penalty charge notice was not issued to the Audi in the next bay as her opinion was that the wheels of a vehicle were on the bay line and believed no action necessary.

“A penalty charge notice was issued to the Peugeot as it was clearly parked over the bay lines, and encroached into the disabled parking bay, which is in contravention of the Traffic Regulations Order 2004.”
