A DECISION to grant Pinewood Studios permission to extend their site is ‘disappointing’, South Bucks District Council has said.
The £200m expansion, which would more than double the size of the existing Iver Heath site, was turned down by SBDC over the detrimental impact it would cause to the Green Belt.
The council said it would also be an ‘inappropriate development’ within the Colne Valley Park and it would generate ‘significant levels of car use’.
Cllr Roger Reed, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Development said: “Of course, we are very disappointed that the Secretary of State rejected our decision to refuse permission for this development.
“We had extensive and well informed objections from the District Council, Parish Councils and others to the scheme but we must now look forward and recognise the importance of Pinewood and the benefit they can bring to the local and wider economy.”
