GERRARDS Cross Youth Club has temporarily solved its staffing problems after finding a youth worker to keep the group running.

David Morton will take over on a temporary basis until October, with the management committee still seeking a permanent replacement.

The thriving club, which meets at the Youth Centre behind the Memorial Centre on East Common, was under threat after struggling to find a new worker to take on two sessions a week.

The senior club meets every Monday during term time from 7 to 9pm, and the junior members on Thursdays from 6.30pm until 8.

Mr Morten will be holding drop-in sessions at the youth club over half term for young people to see what the club has to offer.
