A WYCOMBE woman’s recipe has been voted the People’s Pizza on an ITV show – and residents will soon be able to taste it for themselves.
Maria Tyrrell’s Chimi Chicken pizza went down a storm with This Morning viewers and judges including chef Phil Vickery.
The 37-year-old’s tasty pizza pie – inspired by her Argentinean heritage - will go on sale at all Domino’s outlets in the new year.
After being announced the winner, she told the ITV show: “I am so overwhelmed, and absolutely thrilled. I'm so excited that my Mum and Dad's sauce is going on a pizza.
“Food is a massive part of my family – my grandmother was a cordon bleu chef and my parents and brother run an Argentine restaurant in Middlesex so I’ve always loved cooking and using my Argentinean heritage in recipes.”
The recipe features a combination of chicken in an Argentinean style chimichurri marinade with yellow and red peppers – it got the thumbs up from presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
Phillip said: “They were all brilliant and very tasty pizzas.”
Holly added: “Well done Maria! I did like that one I have to say – that was the one I thought was the nicest.
