AN 18-year-old motorcyclist who died following a car collision in High Wycombe has been named locally.

Lloyd Mitchell, from Bowerdean Road, High Wycombe, was riding a motorbike when he was in a collision with a beige Toyota estate car at about 11.45am yesterday.

The emergency services were called to the scene at the junction of Chestnut Avenue and Bassetsbury Lane, but sadly Lloyd died at the scene.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and the teenager’s next of kin have now been informed.

Sgt Sharon Scarffe, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles travelling prior to the collision to speak to officers.

“If you have any information which could assist the investigation, please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.”
