TRAFFIC light timings at Handy Cross roundabout will be among the hot topics up for discussion as representatives from all levels of local government take public questions in Marlow Bottom on Saturday.

Wycombe MP Steve Baker – whose constituency also contains Marlow Bottom – will be joined on the panel by county councillor Jean Teesdale and district Councillors Dominic Barnes and John Richards for the event at Burford School.

Mark Harris from Marlow Bottom Parish Council completes the line-up of politicians for the second of the regular public forums, which this time will centre on transport issues.

And Cllr Harris expects changes traffic problems on Wycombe Road at Handy Cross roundabout to feature strongly, after changes to traffic light phasing created delays on the stretch.

He said: “It’s organised by the Conservative Association but we’ve tried to make it apolitical, it’s a chance for people to air their issues with all levels of government there, from MP to district and county.

“The last time we held it, transport came up as the biggest priority so we will explore than more this time. It quickly became obvious it was what people wanted to talk about.”

Cllr Harris said he also expects the future of Wycombe Hospital to crop up, with Mr Baker having recently commissioned a report into healthcare provision in Wycombe and surrounding areas.

And with the MP pledging his time for another Marlow Bottom forum, Cllr Harris said there is no danger of the village becoming a forgotten appendage in Mr Baker’s Wycombe constituency.

He said: “It’s actually the opposite, he knows a lot about what goes on in Marlow Bottom and is always keen to know more.

“I have no idea how many hours he must work, he does such a great job.”

The session runs from 10am until 11am on Saturday, November 15 at Burford School, Marlow Bottom.
