A TALK on more than 250,000 years worth of archaeological history takes place next week as a Marlow history group welcomes a guest speaker.
Henley River & Rowing Museum’s curator Eloise Chapman discuses the museum’s Local Collection - comprised of artefacts including a Palaeolithic hand axe dating back a quarter of a million years.
The collection is based on the town of Henley, the history of the River Thames and the sport of rowing.
And among its 20,000 items are several extraordinary archaeological finds, such as Anglo-Saxon and Medieval log boats and an Iron Age hoard of early British coins.
The talk takes place at Liston Hall, Marlow on Thursday, November 20.
Tickets cost £3 or £4 for non-members. Visit www.archaeologyinmarlow.org.uk or call 01628 481792
