A NEW series of public forums begins this weekend for Marlow residents to get issues off their chest in front of a panel of politicians including MP Dominic Grieve.

With Marlow Bottom residents getting the chance to grill their representatives last Saturday, the Conservative Association has now launched a similar initiative for Marlow.

All four levels of local government will be represented, with county councillor and Wycombe District Council leader Richard Scott joining former Attorney General Mr Grieve for on the panel.

And former WDC leader Alex Collingwood will attend on behalf of the district council alongside Town Mayor Suzanne Brown acting as the voice for Marlow Town Council.

Cllr Collingwood said there will be no agenda, allowing residents to raise whatever issues they think important to the town.

And with over 500 leaflets put through doors in the area, it is hoped that if the scheme proves successful it can become a monthly occasion.

Cllr Collingwood said: "We haven’t done it for a long time, but we felt that having seen the turnout at the flooding meeting, we’d like a regular dialogue with residents, whether it’s about flooding, parking, whatever it is.

"We wanted local and national representation there so it doesn’t matter what the issue is, and we want to give an explanation of what we do and how we fit in together.

"There is no agenda as such, if there is a subject they want to discuss then that’s fine. I think if it’s successful then we would want to do t on a monthly basis, we’ll see how it develops."

Cllr Collingwood said he expects car parking, changes to school transport, flooding and recycling collections to be among the most pressing issues for the Marlow electorate.

The drop-in takes place at Age Concern's centre on Glade Road, between 10am and midday on Sarturday.
