Looking for love? Well you may be in luck if you live in south Bucks after Marlow was named as one of the best places in the country to look for a partner.

Figures from dating website match.com analysed users to pinpoint the places with more single people than anywhere else in proportion to population size.

And out of more than 500 towns and cities, Marlow was named 20th in the list of places where you’re most likely to be able to find a date.

The data was studied during the weekend of January 3 and 4 - the busiest one of the year for online dating.

The list in full:

1. West Malling, Kent
2. Northallerton, North Yorkshire
3. Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
4. Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire
5. Prescot, Merseyside
6. Cheadle, Greater Manchester
7. Stockton Heath, Cheshire
8. Epsom, Surrey
9. Leigh-On-Sea, Essex
10. Windsor, Berkshire
11. Truro, Cornwall
12. Marlborough, Wiltshire
13. Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
14. Cirencester, Gloucestershire
15. Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire
16. Chichester, West Sussex
17. Bridgnorth, Shropshire
18. Banstead, Surrey
19. Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire
20. Marlow, Buckinghamshire

Any town with fewer than 50 active users of the popular dating site was removed from the dataset.

But the study only takes into account users of one dating site, meaning other services may be more popular in major cities like London.

Marlow regularly crops up in national lists, with the riverside town being named as one of the most glamorous destinations in Britain by the Times.

But last week Marlovians were given less flattering treatment when their town was featured on a site dedicated to “Britain’s worst places to live”.
