Marlow's famous river crossing became a toll bridge last week as charity volunteers in wacky fancy dress asked drivers for donations towards Comic Relief.
Marlow Thames Rotary Club members stood on the bridge on Friday evening, with generous motorists donating £1675 to the cause in around two hours.
Rotarian Jo Braybrooke said: "The people of Marlow and those visiting and passing through were extremely generous this year and our members had great fun dressing up and collecting.
"We counted the money at Marlow Rowing Club, who kindly offered their premises so we didn’t have to carry the heavy buckets too far."
