STOKENCHURCH Dog Rescue has welcomed two new members to its team.

New dog welfare manager Alan Durrant, 54, has taken over from Susan Berryman, 31, who has left to start work near her parents' home in Nairn, Scotland.

Ms Berryman was manager for more than seven years and was presented with a farewell gift.

Mr Durrant was previously manager for the Wood Green Animal Shelter in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire.

His new deputy is Helen Gerard, 26, has come from the Dogs Trust in Wickhamford, Worcestershire and is completing a course in canine behaviour and training.

Stokenchurch Dog Rescue has been taking in and rehoming dogs since it was founded in the 1960s on the former pig farm in Oxford Road, Stokenchurch. There are usually an average of 50 dogs at the centre.
