A community bus service has been presented with a cheque after the Market Group donated vital funds to help it continue.

The Market Group donated £500 to the Risborough Area Community Bus (RACB), which runs six days a week to provide transport in and around Princes Risborough for people of all ages.

Matthew Walsh, chairman of the Market Group said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be able to donate this money to the community bus.

“It’s a fantastic service for the local community and it’s great to be able to donate money to local organisations.”

RACB said they were “delighted” to receive the donation, which will go towards maintaining the service.

The Market Group have donated almost £8000 to the local community over the last three years, including to the Princes Centre, Rotary Young Careers, new Christmas lights for the High Street and contributions towards free car parking in the High Street last Christmas.

The latest donation comes after it was announced that the bus would become one of 300 organisations to benefit from a £25 million government minibus fund, enabling them to add a new vehicle to their ranks.
