GARETH Ainsworth said there's no reason why Wanderers can't finish in the top half of the table with a fully-fit squad.

He's had a skeletal squad to contend with in the last fortnight with no fewer than 12 first team players ruled out through injury.

But despite sitting at the foot of the table Ainsworth says there's enough talent in the side for Blues to force their way up the table and into the top half.

He said fans will see a difference in results once his key performers are fully fit and firing.

Ainsworth said: "I'm not one for saying where we'll finish but I really believe we've got a squad to finish at least higher than mid table. If we can have everyone back fit and have the rub of the green, I don't see why we can't finish higher up the league.

"Play offs are the furthest thing from my mind at the moment because of where we are in the league. It's something to consider maybe later in the season, but at the moment all we care about is getting away from the bottom."

Referring to his side's injury list he added: "I've never known anything like this in 24 years. Twelve players injured, I've known that before, but not 12 players who could walk into your team and command a first team place."

Ainsworth said he hopes to have some of his walking wounded available to face Rochdale tomorrow.

He said after the midweek game with Aldershot that Dean Morgan and Leon Johnson were the closest to making a return, with Matt McClure an outside possibility.
