SAM Wood was left to bemoan Wanderers' luck as Blues lost a match the winger said they dominated.

Wood said Wycombe were 'all over' Northampton Town on Saturday but failure to take their chances, and some clinical finishing from their opponents, saw Blues beaten 3-1.

The 26-year-old said a second half Cobblers penalty he believes shouldn't have been awarded was the turning point in the game.

Wood told the Bucks Free Press: "We came out second half and before they got the penalty - which wasn't a penalty - I thought we were all over them.

"We had chance after chance - we should have scored. We should have been 2-1 up, they've gone down the other end, got a penalty and we're 2-0 down.

"I thought we were still on top, they've broken us and managed to get a third, which knocked the wind right out of us again.

"We carried on, still attacking, got the penalty and were back in it. Last ten-fifteen minutes we were on top again.

"We didn't take our chances and they took theirs.

"Our luck isn't with us at the moment. If we were at the top we'd be 3-1 or 4-1 up, but we're down the bottom and the luck isn't with us at the minute."

The winger added he was responsible for the game's opening goal after losing possession in midfield.

He said: "The first goal was my fault - I should have cleared my lines, I lost it in the middle. We didn't defend it and they went 1-0 up."
