WYCOMBE Phoenix Harriers out-stripped relegation as they finished tenth in the Chiltern League.
They made sure of their place in Division One when they waded through the mud in Wing to escape the drop by more than 1,000 points.
Lucy Rogers, left, was the star of the show as she won a three-way scrap for second place in the women’s senior race.
Also doing their club proud were Olivia Lowrie and Kirsten Stilwell, who were second and third in the U11s girls’ race, and Ollie Cay and Dominic MacDougall, who were third and fifth in the U11 boys’ run.
Between them they helped Phoenix to first in the girls team event and second in the boys.
In the U20s run, Mateusz Sliwinski was third to help the team to second overall.
Team managers Mark Delgado and David Randall said: “The key to staying up in our first year in the top division was not just the star performances but everyone’s efforts in battling for every place.”
