WANDERERS boss Gareth Ainsworth declined to comment on Charles Dunne's future at Adams Park after the defender went on trial at Blackpool.

The youngster played as a trialist in the second half of the Seasiders' friendly win at Penrith on Saturday but was back in the Wanderers squad that played against Eastleigh last night.

Sources close to the Lancashire club this week suggested the Tangerines are mulling over making a bid for the 20-year-old.

But when asked if he had had any feedback from the Championship club, Ainsworth said: "It's between Blackpool and the club. I wouldn't like to get involved in any of that. While he's on the pitch it's good for the team."

Ainsworth isn't resigned to losing his man despite the interest being shown in him, although the Blues boss was coy when asked about Dunne's future in Bucks.

He said: "Charles went up to Blackpool for a couple of days' training. He's back with us. As long as Charles Dunne's a Wycombe player he's got my left back slot.

"He's growing, still got a lot to learn, but he's one we hope will go on to be a great player, and we hope he can be for us this season."

Dunne was voted Most Improved Young Player of last season by supporters after making 42 appearances.

He is contracted with Wanderers until next summer.
