WASPS have reacted swiftly to a mini injury crisis among the backs by recruiting an international centre.
American Eagles back Andrew Suniula has joined the club this week, and his arrival coincides with that of Tongan internaional William Helu.
Wasps signed Helu during the close season, but injury has meant he wasn’t able to join up with the squad until now.
Suniula meanwhile, arrives with considerable and varied experience.
He represented his country at the 2011 World Cup and has played union for Cornish Pirates and Taranaki in New Zealand and league for Auckland Lions and Manly Sea Eagles.
Their introduction is a timely one for Wasps, who are without Tom Varndell, Andrea Masi and Hugo Southwell.
Elliot Daly was also sidelined until last weekend.
Director of rugby Dai Young said: “We've unfortunately been hit by a few early season injuries to our back line so having Andrew and William come in this week has been good timing."
“They are both experienced international players and provide us with vital depth in the midfield and wider.”
