CHRISTIAN Wade had been robbed of a home international debut after injuring his hamstring during England training.

The Wasps wing was set to be included against Argentina at Twickenham on Saturday, but will now miss the game.

England coach Stuart Lancaster said: “Christian was in contention for a start but his hamstring tightened up in training and unfortunately he hasn't recovered sufficiently in time to be considered.”

It's a bitter blow for the 22-year-old, who responded to missing the Australia Test last weekend by returning to Wasps and scoring two spectacular tries against Gloucester.

That performance is understood to have convinced England coach Stuart Lancaster to include him against the Pumas, but the Wasps flyer will now have to wait a bit longer for his home debut.
