MATT Ingram said he's not concerned about pitch invaders after a fellow goalkeeper was attacked at the weekend.

Leyton Orient keeper Jamie Jones was allegedly punched by a Swindon Town supporter who got onto the County Ground pitch during the O's 3-1 win on Saturday.

The man who donned the gloves for Wanderers last season, Jordan Archer, also suffered at the hands of a pitch invader who jumped on his back as he prepared to take a goalkick at Gillingham's Priestfield ground.

But Ingram said he tends to zone out when fans get on his back - and the worst that's ever happened to him was when a chip was chucked at him.

The High Wycombe-born stopper said: "I've not actually seen a video of it but I have seen the pictures and it looks pretty bad.

"It's a rare occurrence - other than those two [the Jones and Archer incidents] I can't remember another one. When they do happen it's not good but clubs and the FA deal with it pretty well.

"If the fans do that they are going to get dealt with, especially at this level. It's not on my mind at all."

As a goalkeeper Ingram is often in the firing line of abuse from supporters but the former John Hampden School pupil said: "You get a bit from them but you tend to zone out. You get used to it - as long as no one runs on, it doesn't bother you.

"I've just had comments thrown at me. You get all sorts of remarks that I probably can't repeat to you.

"The worst I had coming on the pitch was when I had a chip thrown at me when I was playing at Hayes and Yeading. It's nothing to worry about, it's just a chip. You just laugh it off as one of those things."

Wiltshire Police arrested a 26-year-old man following Saturday's incident. He has subsequently been released on bail.
