More to follow Hayes' arrival at Adams Park
PAUL Hayes will be the first of many signings to be made by Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth in the coming weeks.
He swooped to sign the striker, who scored six goals in six matches in a previous loan spell at Adams Park, after his release from Scunthorpe United and he penned a two-year deal last night.
Ainsworth said he wants to have the majority of his squad in place before the start of pre-season training and more new signings can be expected soon.
He said: "I have to work fast. Whether we are talking to players or travelling the country trying to talk to players, we want to get this squad together quickly.
"I've got ten days planned with the family in June and I want to be able to enjoy that without worrying too much about coming back.
"Certainly we'll be leaving some signings until the last minute - people who you don't think will be available will become available - but I also know getting people over the line early is good for the squad, good for the team, good for people's heads, and good for the fans."
Hayes impressed in a loan spell with Blues in 2012 and Ainsworth hinted the likes of Aaron Pierre, who excelled on loan last season, are still in his thoughts for the forthcoming campaign.
He said: "The loan players did well and they are in my mind but there's plenty of other players out there who did well against us, players I've seen on other teams."
