SIR William Borlase’s Grammar School are down to the final 16 in their bid to become national tennis champions this summer.

Nearly 200 schools from around Great Britain entered the Aegon Team Tennis Schools National Championships, but Borlase’s have seen off everyone in their path so far to make it to the finals, which will take place in Sheffield from July 8-11.

Their team of Matilda Crowfoot, Sophie Lane, Beth Marriott and Holly Russell overcame Haberdashes Aske’s 8-4 to win the Herts, Bucks and Oxon group, having already beaten Claire's Court and Headington School Oxford.

They will now take on all the other regional winners from across the country.
