Danny Rowe will remain at Wanderers until the end of the season after his loan spell was extended for a second time.

The 19-year-old, who is capable of playing in defence or midfield, saw his loan deal come to an end after Saturday's win over Hartlepool United but manager Gareth Ainsworth has opted to extend it.

Rowe joined the club earlier in the season but was recalled by parent club Rotherham United to cover an injury crisis at the New York Stadium, before making a return to Adams Park.

That deal has now been extended until the end of the regular season, with Blues having to ask to extend it further should they end up in the play offs. Rotherham will be able to recall Rowe.

Ainsworth said: "Danny is a terrific player and it’s important for us to keep him in our squad. We know we can rely on him every time he steps onto the pitch and I’d like to thank Rotherham for enabling us to extend his loan deal."

Rowe was also on loan at Wanderers last season, playing a key role in their successful battle for survival.
