Brentford boss Mark Warburton has expressed his delight at how Sam Saunders’ and Nico Yennaris’ loan deals at Wanderers have progressed.

The two clubs agreed a deal on Monday for Blues to keep hold of the pair until May 2, covering all remaining regular season games but not the play-offs should Wycombe find themselves falling out of the automatic promotion spots in League Two.

Warburton told the Bees website: “I am delighted with how the loan is going for all parties.

“The feedback from [Wycombe boss] Gareth Ainsworth has been extremely positive about both players.

“From the players’ perspective, they are getting lots of playing time in a team fighting for promotion.

“And from our perspective, important squad members are getting valuable match minutes in preparation for any potential recall, for which we have a 24 hour notice period.”

The duo have featured in five games since signing on at Adams Park on February 27, helping the team to three draws and two wins.
