Two gymnastics teams from a Gerrards Cross school were in fine form at the National IAPS Gymnastics competition last Sunday.

The under-10 girls from Maltham’s Green School became National Champions while the under-11s collected a silver medal at the event in Tunbridge Wells on 15 November.

The under-10s were strong across the board and produced impressive displays in the floor, vault and group sequences where they scored highly with a 9.0 and a 9.6 out of ten.

The performances helped them take home the National crown while the under-11s were solid in their execution throughout the day to finish second by just 0.35 points.

Tara Sadlier was particularly impressive as she recorded a score of 9.7 to take home the shield for the best individual display of the day just ahead of Isabel Whitburn who scored 9.6.

Their displays helped them finish joint sixth out of 75 competitors while Sophie Schulten came just behind them in seventh.

There was further group success for both teams as they picked up a bronze medal each in the four piece floor and vault categories for the respective age groups.
