An emphatic win for Gerrards Cross saw them extend their lead over third place Wycombe Squash and Racket Club (WSRC) in the Bucks Squash League Division One.

Michael Burnett and Stewart Heffernan were both on top of their games as they won their respective matches 3-0.

WSRC hit back through Adam Pyne’s 3-0 win before Steve Wright (3-1) and Trevor Loran (3-2) won their matches to secure a 16-6 win for Cross.

Meanwhile, Aylesbury Grammar School continued their seemingly unstoppable charge towards the Division One title as they hammered Beaconsfield 18-5 to open up a 48 point gap at the top.

Elsewhere, Chesham Bois 1A’s 16-8 loss against Holmer Green saw them slip to the bottom of the league.

A lacklustre Wycombe Drifters side were involved in a topsy-turvy match against Chesham 1979 in Division Two as they lost 13-6.

Neil Hollister kicked off the match with a 3-0 win for Chesham but they were immediately reeled back in as Jon Ould recorded a 3-0 win for Wycombe.

The scores then moved onto 6-6 before Jacob Sutton’s victory helped Chesham pull away for only their second win of the season.

At the top of the table, Chesham Bois Mavericks maintained their hold on first place with a commanding 17-5 win over Beaconsfield Bulls.

It was better news for second placed Beaconsfield Tigers as they overcame a spirited Farnham Common side by a score of 13-6.

In the Berkshire League Division 2A, Temple Wycombe entertained runaway leaders Burghfield and were unable to stop their run as they lost 16-8.

Temple had started strongly with a 3-1 win from Adam Williams but were unable to resist the quality of Burghfield, who have a 100% record this season, and increased their lead to 32 points at the top of Division 2A with the win.
