British Formula One Sidecar racers Brian Gray and Adam Christie battled a strong field and difficult conditions to earn three top 10 finishes at Thruxton.

The High Wycombe Powerbiking team once again experienced engine trouble coming into the race but came through the inconvenience in composed fashion.

Both Gray and Christie were pleased with the results and were happy to have come away from the Thruxton meet with three positive results.

Gray said: “It’s been a great weekend with three good finishes, especially using our older sidecar and engine.”

Christie added: “I’m really pleased with the way it went with it being such a fast track.”

Their efforts in qualifying earned them a respectable 10th place on the grid after qualifying and they would maintain their levels in Saturday’s two races.

The warm weather helped attract a bumper crowd who were treated to some excellent overtaking in the opening race of the weekend.

While others jostled for a position ahead of them, Gray and Christie settled into a consistent pace to maintain their 10th place standing at the chequered flag.

The second race saw the duo go one better as they moved up a position to claim a ninth place finish.

The two decent finishes provided an excellent springboard for Gray and Christie heading into Sunday’s final race.

Their consistent form and greater knowledge of the track combined well to hand them their best finish as they came seventh.

Results at Thruxton leave Gray and Christie 11th in the overall championship ahead of a trip to Leicestershire’s Mallory Park in the next round.
