WANDERERS have gazumped a number of other clubs by completing the signing of striker John Sutton.

Sutton, the brother of English and Scottish League winner Chris, comes to Adams Park on a two-year deal with good pedigree.

The 24-year-old has been the top-scorer at St Mirren for the past two seasons and was chased by a number of other clubs, including two in the Championship.

Blues boss Paul Lambert said: "This is fantastic news. John could have joined clubs much higher up the Football League but he's opted to come to us.

"He had an excellent record in the Scottish Premier League and I've always liked him.

"He'll get goals - but he can also bring other players into the game. He's a perfect target man."
