Alex Barnett was the stand out player in the JGAP Champion of Champions event as he carded a magnificent tally of 43 points over 18 holes at Studley Wood in Oxfordshire.

The 12-year-old, who is a member at Ellesborough and has a handicap of 23, finished four points ahead of Freddie Murfitt, who took second from Alfie Westbrook with the same score.

Countback was needed to decide the winner of the girls competition as Lily Rigby-Walden edged out Huntswood club-mate Erin Bailey thanks to a better back three holes after both came in with 38 points.

Scoring in the boys nine-hole competition proved that the future continues to look bright for regional golf after Eli Matthews (Goring & Streatley) bagged 34 points to clinch first prize by four from Callum Lambert.
